The KENNAMETAL 1153184 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Sized at 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) diameter, it features a 130-degree point angle and three spiral flutes in a regular helix configuration for efficient chip evacuation. The bright (uncoated) finish suits applications where coating is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated. With an overall length of 4.37 inches and a flute length of 2.60 inches, it fits standard jobber-length tooling setups. This bit is specified to DIN 6537L and carries a K10 carbide material grade, making it appropriate for machinists and toolroom professionals working in high-volume drilling operations.
This drill bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools requiring a straight-cylindrical shank interface. The web-thinned, parallel-web geometry reduces thrust force at entry, which is beneficial when drilling harder or abrasive materials. The 7/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank with a shank diameter of 0.4375 inch fits standard collets and drill chucks without modification. It is a right-hand cut tool intended for conventional clockwise-rotation spindles. The 2.09-inch maximum drilling depth accommodates typical through-hole and blind-hole applications within the jobber length class.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production drill for machining applications requiring a 7/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank solid carbide bit conforming to DIN 6537L within the 0.4000 to 0.5000 inch diameter range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify collet or chuck capacity matches the 7/16 inch shank diameter before clamping. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so external coolant or cutting fluid delivery should be used as appropriate for the workpiece material.
