The KENNAMETAL 1152736 is a right-hand E-SCLP indexable boring bar engineered for precision internal turning and boring operations. Built from solid carbide, this toolholder accepts CP-style inserts secured by a screw-clamping method and delivers a neutral rake angle with a -5 degree lead angle. The minimum bore diameter is 30.48mm (1.2 inches), the shank diameter is 25.40mm (1 inch), and the overall length is 304.80mm (12 inches). A through-coolant design routes cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, supporting tool life and chip evacuation in demanding bore operations. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians install this bar in CNC lathes and boring mills.
This boring bar is suited for precision internal diameter machining in production and job-shop environments. The 1-inch shank diameter fits standard toolholding blocks and turrets found on CNC turning centers. The through-coolant capability makes it appropriate for deep-bore applications where chip control and heat management are critical. The E-SCLP toolholder style is designed for use with CP-series inserts, which offer a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 5/32-inch insert thickness, providing a stable, repeatable cutting platform across ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed for use with CP-style (CP..) indexable inserts in E-SCLP toolholder configurations. Specific machine and insert compatibility should be verified against the applicable KENNAMETAL tooling catalog prior to installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the coolant supply is isolated before mounting or removing the boring bar. The shank should be clamped securely in a properly sized toolholder block; verify through-coolant port alignment with the machine turret supply before operation. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and confirming bore diameter at trial cuts.
