The KENNAMETAL 1152608 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built to the E-NE toolholder style in the Top Notch series, it accepts N-style inserts held by a clamp-type insert holding method. The bar features a 3/4 inch shank diameter, a minimum bore diameter of 1.125 inches, and a 10 inch overall length, making it suited for moderate-depth bores where rigidity and precise finish are required. A built-in coolant-through port with a 0.28 inch coolant hole diameter supports chip evacuation and tool life during continuous cutting. The right-hand cut configuration and 3-degree lead angle round out a tool built for production boring work.
This boring bar is used in production and job-shop environments where repeatable internal diameter finishes are critical. It is well matched to applications involving steel, cast iron, and other machinable alloys where the Top Notch insert system is already in use. The 10 inch OAL accommodates reach requirements on deeper bores while the solid carbide construction helps maintain dimensional accuracy under load. Machinists and CNC programmers working with N-style inserts will find this bar a direct-fit solution for right-hand internal turning setups.
Designed for use with N-style inserts in the Top Notch series toolholder system. Toolholder style is E-NE. Specific compatible insert part numbers should be confirmed using the KENNAMETAL Top Notch insert selection guide for N-style geometries.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Secure the boring bar in the tool turret or boring head per machine tool specifications and ensure the shank is clamped over adequate contact length to minimize overhang deflection. Shut down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or adjusting the bar. Verify coolant line connection to the toolholder before resuming cutting operations.
