The KENNAMETAL 1152602 is an internal indexable profiling toolholder designed for precision boring and profiling operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built on the Top Notch Profiling Boring Bar series, this right-hand holder features a 5/8-inch carbide shank, a 5-degree lead angle, and a neutral rake geometry. It accepts NP.. 51L compatible inserts secured by a top clamp method, and it includes a coolant-through channel measuring 0.218 inches in diameter to support high-pressure coolant delivery at the cutting zone. Weighing 1.34 pounds, it is suited for shops running tight-tolerance internal profiles where rigidity and insert repeatability are critical.
This toolholder is intended for internal turning and profiling applications in production and job-shop environments. The 0.9-inch minimum hole diameter makes it appropriate for medium-bore work on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The E-NKLC style designation and 10-inch overall length provide reach for deeper bore configurations typical in aerospace, automotive, and general machining applications. Installation is performed by machining technicians on CNC turning equipment. The carbide shank construction improves vibration damping compared to steel shanks, which is especially relevant in long-reach internal boring setups.
Accepts NP.. 51L series inserts with a 5/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible insert size code is NP.. as specified in the Top Notch Profiling Boring Bar series. Cross-reference manufacturer number E10NKLCR05 when verifying insert and toolholder pairing with KENNAMETAL tooling catalogs.
This toolholder is installed by qualified CNC machining technicians on turning centers or lathes equipped with appropriate tool turrets or boring bar holders. The machine spindle and all axes must be powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the toolholder. Verify shank fit and clamping torque per the machine tool manufacturer specifications before initiating a cut. Coolant-through connections should be confirmed leak-free before running at operating pressure.
