The KENNAMETAL 1152600 is a right-hand, internal indexable profiling toolholder from the Top Notch Profiling Boring Bar series. Built on a carbide shank with a 0.5 inch diameter, this boring bar is designed for internal profiling operations where precise contour work is required in existing bores. The 5-degree lead angle and neutral rake geometry work with NP.. 51L insert compatibility to produce clean, accurate profiles in a range of workpiece materials. At 8 inches overall length, it suits typical CNC and manual boring setups on production and job-shop lathes. The coolant-through design, with a 0.187 inch coolant hole, keeps the cutting zone clear during deep or interrupted internal cuts.
This toolholder is suited for internal profiling and contouring on CNC turning centers and manual lathes in production machining, toolroom, and maintenance environments. The 0.66 inch minimum bore diameter makes it appropriate for relatively small-diameter internal features. Machinists and toolroom specialists working with KENNAMETAL Top Notch indexable tooling systems will find this bar a direct fit for profiling applications that demand a rigid, short-coupling carbide shank and consistent insert repeatability.
Designed for use with NP.. 51L series indexable inserts. The manufacturer cross-reference number for this toolholder is E08NKLCR05. Compatible insert inscribed circle is 5/8 inch.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's setup procedures. Ensure the lathe or turning center spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or removing the toolholder. Shank should be secured with appropriate tool clamps or a boring bar holder sized for a 0.5 inch shank, with sufficient overhang minimized to reduce deflection. Verify insert seating and clamp torque per the insert manufacturer's specifications before taking a cut.
