The KENNAMETAL 1114860 is a left-hand carbide threading insert in the Top Notch series, designed for precision thread turning on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a CVD-applied TiC/TiCN/TiN multilayer finish in manufacturer grade KC850, which is suited for cutting a wide range of steels and cast irons at material grades C5 and C6. The insert produces a partial profile 60-degree thread form and handles both internal and external threading applications. External pitch range is 0.60 to 1.75 mm (14 to 44 TPI) and internal pitch range is 1.00 to 2.00 mm (12 to 24 TPI). Machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this insert.

This insert fits Top Notch series toolholders configured for left-hand threading. It is applicable in both internal and external thread-turning operations on ferrous workpieces in production and job-shop environments. Installation Notes

Threading inserts are seated and secured by a licensed machinist or CNC turning technician following machine tool manufacturer torque and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or damage before seating the insert. Do not force or tap the insert into the pocket; incorrect seating will damage the cutting edge and the toolholder.
