The KENNAMETAL 1113805 is a carbide threading insert in the Top Notch series, designed for both internal and external thread cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the NTF insert style with a KC850 grade substrate and a CVD-applied TiC/TiCN/TiN multilayer finish, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of workpiece materials. It covers external pitches from 0.60 to 2.50 mm (10 to 44 TPI) and internal pitches from 1.00 to 2.50 mm (9 to 24 TPI), making it a versatile choice for partial profile 60-degree threading. The left-hand configuration suits specific toolholder orientations in production threading applications.
This insert is used in precision threading operations on metal workpieces in manufacturing, tool and die, and production machining environments. It is intended for use with compatible Top Notch series toolholders. The 60-degree partial profile geometry accommodates a range of thread standards without requiring a dedicated insert for each pitch, reducing insert inventory requirements. Machinists and CNC operators working with both metric and inch-based thread specifications will find this insert applicable across common threading tasks in ferrous and non-ferrous materials rated for C5 and C6 material grades.
Designed for use with Top Notch series threading toolholders that accept size 3 NTF-style inserts. Compatible with both internal and external threading applications on C5 and C6 material grades.
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or insert-clamping tool specified for the Top Notch toolholder to ensure proper clamping torque and seating. Verify insert hand orientation matches the toolholder before beginning a threading pass to avoid thread form errors or insert damage.
