The KENNAMETAL 1113800 is a carbide threading insert designed for cutting Acme-form threads on both internal and external applications. Manufactured in the Top Notch series with a KC850 grade substrate, it carries a CVD-applied TiC/TiCN/TiN multilayer finish that improves wear resistance and tool life when threading steel and cast iron workpieces. The insert is right-hand, rated at 8 TPI for Acme thread form with a 29-degree included angle. The cutting tip measures 0.0409 inches wide and the corner radius is 0.0410 inches, supporting clean thread profile generation. Machinists and toolroom operators running CNC lathes or manual threading operations are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for threading operations on CNC turning centers and manual lathes where Acme thread profiles are required. The 29-degree included angle is specific to Acme thread standards, making this insert appropriate for producing lead screws, power transmission screws, and similar threaded components in both production and maintenance machining environments. Its dual capability for internal and external threading reduces the number of tooling changes required on multi-operation setups. Material grades C5 and C6 indicate suitability for use on cast iron and steel at moderate to higher cutting speeds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement threading insert for KENNAMETAL Top Notch series toolholders accepting a size 3 NA-style insert. No specific model numbers or system families beyond the Top Notch series were provided in the product data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle locked out and at zero speed before seating or removing the insert. Secure the insert fully in the Top Notch toolholder pocket and verify clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines before resuming cutting. Inspect the insert edge and coating for damage prior to each use. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the KC850 grade on the material being threaded.
