The KENNAMETAL 1113612 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision turning and grooving operations on CNC lathes and other turning centers. Manufactured in the NG4125 style and offered in the K68 carbide grade, this insert features a bright uncoated finish suitable for non-ferrous and cast iron cutting applications where a hard, wear-resistant edge is required. The left-hand orientation and neutral rake geometry support controlled chip flow during grooving cuts. With a cutting width of 0.1252 inches (3.18 mm) and a maximum depth of cut of 0.1500 inches (3.81 mm), it is sized for fine grooving work in medium to high-volume production environments. Machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is part of the Kennametal Top Notch series, a well-established grooving system used in both OD and face grooving applications on production turning equipment. The NG style with a 4125 insert size and seat size 4 is suited for grooving in materials such as cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and similar workpiece materials classified under the C3 material grade. The 55-degree included angle and a corner radius of 0.0075 inches (0.19 mm) support detail-oriented grooving with controlled surface finish. This insert is sold individually and is intended for use in compatible Top Notch toolholders and insert seats.
Designed for use with Kennametal Top Notch series toolholders and insert seats accepting NG-style inserts with a seat size of 4 and insert size 4125. Confirm toolholder seat specifications before ordering to ensure proper seating and clamping.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a de-energized and locked-out state before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping mechanism - do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excess clamping force. Verify insert seating fully against the pocket before resuming operations, and confirm tool offset values in the machine controller after any insert change.
