The KENNAMETAL 1113595 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Running in the Top Notch series, this uncoated left-hand insert carries a K68 manufacturer grade and delivers a cutting width of 0.1421 inches (3.61 mm) with a maximum depth of cut of 0.150 inches (3.81 mm). The bright, uncoated carbide surface is well suited for applications where coating is not required or where sharp edges and minimal built-up edge are the priority. Machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is intended for grooving operations on lathes and turning centers where a left-hand cutting orientation is required. The neutral rake geometry and 55-degree included angle make it suitable for grooving into materials that fall within the C3 material grade range. The Top Notch series tooling system is a common platform in production shops running external grooving work. No specific compatible machine models or holder part numbers were provided; consult KENNAMETAL Top Notch tooling system documentation to identify the correct holder for this insert style and size.
Designed for use with KENNAMETAL Top Notch series external grooving toolholders that accept the NG insert style in size 3142. Verify holder compatibility using KENNAMETAL Top Notch system documentation before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing any insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping mechanism are free of chips and debris before installing the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamping force.
