The KENNAMETAL 1113533 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the NR insert style in grade K68, this uncoated bright-finish insert features a 3.18 mm (0.1252 inch) cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 3.81 mm (0.1500 inch). The full-radius geometry with a 1.59 mm corner radius promotes smooth chip flow and consistent groove profiles. It is part of the Top Notch series, intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials where an uncoated carbide grade is appropriate.
This insert is suited for light to medium grooving applications in production and job-shop environments. The left-hand orientation makes it applicable to specific toolholder configurations where the cutting action is directed accordingly. The neutral rake geometry provides a stable cutting edge for grooving operations requiring controlled chip evacuation and repeatable groove width. Maximum depth of cut range spans 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm, accommodating a variety of groove depth requirements within that window. Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with Top Notch series toolholders.
Designed for use with Top Notch series toolholders that accept the NR3062 insert style in a left-hand configuration. Verify toolholder insert pocket specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and spindle locked before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating the new insert. Never force the insert into the pocket, as this can chip the cutting edge or damage the clamping mechanism.
