The KENNAMETAL 1097036 is a right-hand CTGP-style indexable turning toolholder designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built on the Kendex series platform, it features a 0-degree positive rake geometry and uses a clamp-style insert holding method to secure TN..32. series inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. The shank measures 3/4 inch wide by 3/4 inch tall and the holder has an overall length of 4 inches. Constructed from steel, this toolholder is suited for machinists and toolroom professionals who require repeatable, rigid insert positioning on general turning applications.
This toolholder fits standard turning center setups where a right-hand tool orientation is required. The CTGP style and positive rake configuration make it appropriate for finishing and medium-stock-removal passes on a range of workpiece materials. It accepts TP.. 322 inserts, giving toolroom and production floor technicians a commonly available insert family. It is a single-use, non-coolant-through design with no multi-tool capability, keeping setup straightforward in standard gang-tool or turret configurations.
Designed to accept TN..32. series inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle; full insert compatibility reference is TP.. 322. Fits standard 3/4 inch square shank tool pockets on CNC and manual turning centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with indexable toolholding systems. Power down and lock out the turning center spindle before mounting or adjusting any toolholder in the turret or tool block. Verify centerline height alignment after mounting and confirm insert seating and clamp torque per the insert manufacturer guidelines before resuming cuts. Do not exceed the insert or holder load ratings for the intended depth of cut and feed rate.
