The KENNAMETAL 1095909 is a left-hand internal indexable profiling toolholder designed for precision bore profiling and internal turning operations. Built on the Top Notch series platform, it accepts NP.. 51R compatible inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method. The steel shank measures 0.75 inches in diameter and 10 inches in overall length, with a minimum hole diameter requirement of 0.98 inches. A neutral rake angle and 5-degree lead angle make this holder well suited for controlled, consistent stock removal in tight bore applications. A 1/8-27 NPT coolant-through port supports continuous chip evacuation and tool life extension during deep internal passes.
This toolholder is intended for internal profiling and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers in metalworking environments. The left-hand orientation and A-NKLC style geometry are specified for applications where the spindle rotation and bore access direction require a left-hand approach. It is typically used by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop settings handling steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The 0.98-inch minimum bore diameter limits its use to applications where hole access meets or exceeds that threshold.
Compatible with NP.. 51R series indexable inserts. Toolholder style is A-NKLC. Refer to KENNAMETAL Top Notch series insert selection guides to confirm insert geometry and grade selection for the target workpiece material.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully within the tool turret or boring bar holder to the depth specified by the machine tool manufacturer before initiating any cuts. Power down the machine and confirm a zero-energy state before changing inserts or adjusting the toolholder. Do not exceed the minimum bore diameter requirement of 0.98 inches, as inadequate clearance will damage the insert, holder, or workpiece.
