The KENNAMETAL 1095902 is an external indexable profiling toolholder designed for turning and profiling operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to the Top Notch series standard, this right-hand toolholder features a 3/4 inch shank diameter and a 10 inch overall length. It accepts NP.. series inserts secured by a clamp-style holding method with a neutral rake angle and a 5-degree lead angle. The steel construction provides rigidity during interrupted and continuous cuts. Coolant-through capability is included via a 1/8-27 NPT coolant hole, making it suitable for operations where chip evacuation and tool life are priorities. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this holder in production and job-shop turning environments.
This toolholder is intended for external turning and profiling applications where a low lead angle and neutral rake are required to manage radial cutting forces and produce accurate profile geometry. The 5-degree lead angle suits facing and light profiling passes. The clamp-style insert retention of the Top Notch system allows fast insert indexing without removing the toolholder from the turret. It is well suited to steel, alloy, and similar work materials in both roughing and finishing contexts. The A-NKLC toolholder style positions the cutting edge at 0.562 inches above center, a dimension relevant to tool height setup on the machine.
Compatible with NP.. 51L series inserts. Manufacturer cross-reference number A12SNKLCR05. Designed for use in external turning and profiling applications on lathes and turning centers that accept 3/4 inch shank toolholders.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be stopped and the turret de-energized before mounting or adjusting the toolholder. Verify tool height by confirming the center-to-cutting-edge dimension matches the machine centerline before taking a cut. Insert indexing and clamping should follow the torque and procedure guidelines published in the KENNAMETAL Top Notch tooling manual for this series.
