The KENNAMETAL 1095633 is a screw-clamp indexable turning toolholder in the SVUB style, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It features a right-hand cutting orientation with a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees, making it suitable for straight turning, facing, and light profiling passes. The 5/8 x 5/8 inch shank fits standard toolpost and turret pockets in that bore size. Insert retention is handled by a screw-on clamping method, which provides repeatable seating and positive insert lockdown under interrupted cuts or moderate feed rates. The toolholder body is machined from steel for rigidity and durability in production environments.
This toolholder is intended for use in metalworking and machining applications where a compact, screw-retained SVUB-style holder is required. With an overall length of 4 inches and a head length of 0.5 inches, it fits into tight turret arrangements on smaller CNC turning centers as well as manual engine lathes. The back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension is 0.955 inches, and the insert inscribed circle is 0.25 inches, consistent with VB..22. series inserts. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians are the primary installers of this holder in production and job-shop environments.
Compatible with VB..22. series inserts, with complete insert compatibility listed as VB.. 221. Designed as an OEM-style screw-on toolholder for CNC and manual turning centers accepting a 5/8 x 5/8 inch shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom personnel. Before mounting or removing the toolholder, confirm the machine spindle is stopped and the control is in an appropriate safe state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the turret pocket or toolpost bore and torque clamping fasteners to machine-tool manufacturer specifications. When seating the insert, use the appropriate Kennametal screw-torque driver to avoid stripping the clamping screw thread.
