The KENNAMETAL 1094830 is a left-hand indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built on the Top Notch series platform, it uses a clamp-style insert holding method compatible with N. style inserts. The shank diameter measures 5/8 inches, the overall length is 10 inches, and the minimum bore diameter is 1.0000 inches (25.40 mm). The bar features a coolant-through design with a 1/8-27 NPT coolant hole thread, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in interrupted or continuous cuts. The steel body provides rigidity suited to production boring applications where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical.
This boring bar is intended for use in shop environments where left-hand cutting orientation is required, such as back-boring operations or setups where the spindle rotation or tool post position demands a left-hand holder. The 3-degree lead angle and 0.5000-inch center-to-cutting-edge measurement make it appropriate for close-tolerance internal diameter work on a wide range of workpiece materials. It is a single-use tool configuration and is not designed for multi-use or dual-orientation setups. Machinists and tool room professionals working in production or job shop environments will find this holder a direct-fit solution for A-NE style tooling systems.
Compatible with N. style inserts using the A-NE toolholder style within the KENNAMETAL Top Notch series. Designed as an OEM-style fit for left-hand indexable boring applications requiring clamp-held N. inserts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the boring bar. Secure the shank in the tool holder to the machine manufacturer's recommended clamping specifications, and verify insert seating before taking a test cut. Confirm coolant line connection to the 1/8-27 NPT port is leak-free before initiating coolant flow.
