The KENNAMETAL 1094519 is a right-hand SDJC-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees and accepts DC..21.5. series inserts secured by a screw-on clamping method. The shank measures 0.375 inches wide by 0.380 inches tall with an overall length of 2.5 inches, making it suited for smaller boring and turning setups where compact tooling is required. The toolholder body is constructed from steel for rigidity and dimensional stability under cutting loads. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this holder in standard turning centers and engine lathes.
This toolholder is intended for use in metal-cutting turning applications on CNC turning centers and manual lathes in both production and job-shop environments. The SDJC style positions the insert at a 3-degree lead angle, which influences chip flow and surface finish in finish and semi-finish turning passes. The screw-on insert retention method provides positive clamping without an obstruction in the chip path. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant delivery must be used when flood or mist cooling is required. This holder is a single-use, non-multi-use tool intended for dedicated toolpost or turret mounting.
Accepts DC..21.5. series inserts with a 0.250-inch inscribed circle. Complete insert compatibility is listed as DC.. 21.51. This holder is designed for use in standard external turning operations where SDJC-style toolholders are specified.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be stopped and all motion arrested before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or toolpost. Secure the shank to the specified clamping torque per the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines, and confirm insert seating and screw torque before initiating a cutting pass. Do not operate without the insert screw fully tightened and the insert properly seated in the pocket.
