The JONES STEPHENS 159193 is a brass compression coupling designed to join sections of pipe in potable water, residential, and light commercial plumbing systems. It accepts 3/4 inch IPS pipe or 1 inch C (copper) tubing, making it a versatile fitting for mixed-material connections. The all-brass construction provides corrosion resistance and long service life in wet environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting where a solder-free, tool-assisted mechanical connection is required.
This compression coupling is suited for residential and light commercial water supply lines where joining copper tubing or IPS-threaded pipe without soldering is preferred or required by site conditions. Typical applications include under-sink supply repairs, water heater connections, and branch line tie-ins where open flame is restricted. The dual-size compatibility — 3/4 inch IPS or 1 inch C — reduces the need for separate fittings on jobs involving both pipe types.
Designed as an OEM-style compression coupling for use with 3/4 inch IPS pipe or 1 inch C copper tubing in standard residential and light commercial plumbing water supply systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure completely before cutting pipe or disassembling existing fittings. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the fitting body, then use an appropriate wrench to snug — avoid overtightening, which can deform the compression ring and cause leaks. Inspect the connection for leaks after restoring system pressure.
