The JET EQUIPMENT JT9-690635 is a 10-inch by 50-inch electronic variable speed vertical milling machine built for consistent, high-tolerance machining in professional shop environments. The machine is constructed using the Meehanite casting process with enhanced internal ribbing, delivering the rigidity needed for heavy cutting applications. Spindle speed ranges from 60 to 4500 RPM on a continuously variable drive, and the unit ships complete with a Newall DP700 2-axis digital readout, an X-axis powerfeed, and a pneumatic air-powered drawbar. Table and ways are hardened to 54 HRC and precision ground. The spindle taper is R-8. A licensed machinist or skilled industrial equipment technician is the primary installer for this class of machine.
This milling machine is configured for demanding metalworking operations in production shops, tool rooms, and industrial maintenance facilities. The JTM-1050EVS2/230 platform runs on 230-volt single-phase power and is well suited to continuous-duty milling, drilling, and boring work. The Newall DP700 DRO provides real-time 2-axis position feedback, reducing setup time and improving part repeatability. The X-axis powerfeed automates table travel for consistent feed rates during long cuts. The pneumatic drawbar speeds tool changes and reduces operator fatigue during high-volume work. This configuration is intended for facilities already equipped with a compressed air supply at the machine location.
Designed as a complete machine package based on the JTM-1050EVS2/230 platform; the Newall DP700 DRO, X-axis powerfeed, and air-powered drawbar are factory-integrated with this SKU and are not separate add-ons.
Installation should be performed by a qualified millwright or industrial equipment technician familiar with large machine tool setup. The machine must be properly leveled on a reinforced concrete floor using the integrated leveling system before operation; do not power up the spindle drive until leveling is complete and all way covers are in place. A dedicated 230-volt electrical circuit sized to the machine nameplate amperage is required; all wiring must comply with applicable NEC requirements. A compressed air supply is required to operate the pneumatic drawbar.
