The JET EQUIPMENT JT9-690141 is a full-featured vertical knee mill configured with X, Y, and knee powerfeeds and an Acu-Rite digital readout system. It is built around a 3 HP motor running on 230/460 volts, 3-phase power, prewired at 230V from the factory. The milling head is precision bored and honed and uses high-precision Class 7 spindle bearings with internal cooling. The machine body uses Meehanite casting for rigidity, and all ways and the table are precision hardened and ground. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and job-shop technicians are the primary installers and operators of this machine.
The JT9-690141 is suited to metal cutting, metal shaping, and precision milling operations in toolrooms, job shops, and production environments. The combination of X-axis, Y-axis, and knee powerfeeds makes it appropriate for repetitive contouring and profiling work where manual table feed would slow throughput. The integrated Acu-Rite DRO package supports precise positioning without relying solely on the satin chrome-finished dials, though those dials are present as a secondary reference. The internal coolant tank is cast into the base and is ready for a coolant pump, which is sold separately.
Designed as an OEM-configured vertical knee milling machine within the JET JTM-4VS product line, fitted with the 200S 3-phase motor package and Acu-Rite DRO and powerfeed options as specified.
Installation requires a licensed electrician to connect 230/460V 3-phase service per NEC requirements; confirm voltage tap selection matches the supply before energizing. The machine weighs 2,420 pounds and requires appropriate rigging equipment and a level, reinforced floor surface rated for the load. Lock out and tag out all power before performing any spindle, quill, or table service. A tolerance test sheet is included with the unit and should be reviewed before first operation to verify factory alignment.
