The JET EQUIPMENT JT9-101952 is a 5-ton capacity hand chain hoist built for light-duty industrial and contractor-grade lifting applications. Part of the JET S90 Series, it features all-steel construction with a 20-foot standard lift. The hoist uses a Weston-style double ratchet pawl brake that splits the load across opposite sides of the ratchet gear, improving load security during operation. Grade 80 black oxide coated load chain resists corrosion while heat-treated load plates and case-hardened internal components extend service life. Weighing 118 pounds, the unit ships as a single piece and is sized for installation in confined or low-headroom environments.
This hoist is intended for light-duty industrial settings where reliable manual lifting is required without powered rigging equipment. The compact, lightweight body makes it practical for job sites, maintenance bays, and manufacturing facilities where overhead clearance is limited. The S90 Series is available in capacities from 1/2 ton to 10 tons, with standard lift options of 10, 15, 20, and 30 feet. Custom lift lengths are also available through the manufacturer. Licensed riggers and industrial mechanics are the typical installers in regulated work environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use hand chain hoist for light-duty industrial lifting applications requiring 5-ton capacity and a 20-foot lift range.
Installation and rigging should be performed by a qualified rigger or industrial mechanic in accordance with ASME B30.16 standards for overhead hoists. Before installing, verify that the overhead support structure is rated to handle the hoist weight plus the intended load. Inspect all hooks, chain, and load plates prior to first use and after any overload event. Never exceed the rated 5-ton working load limit.
