The JET 691208 is a full-size vertical knee milling machine configured with a Newall C80 3-axis (quill) digital readout and an X-axis powerfeed installed at the factory. The DRO provides real-time position data across the X, Y, and quill axes, reducing manual calculation and improving repeatability on production and toolroom work. The integrated X-axis powerfeed automates table travel, reducing operator fatigue on long passes. This machine is intended for professional machinists, toolroom technicians, and skilled trades shops performing precision milling, drilling, and boring operations.
The JET 691208 fits toolroom, job shop, and light manufacturing environments where a full-knee mill with digital positioning is required. It is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metalwork, precision fixture building, and general machining tasks. The factory-installed DRO and powerfeed eliminate field wiring and calibration work at initial setup, making it ready for immediate production use upon installation and tramming.
Designed as a factory-configured variant of the JET JTM-1050 vertical knee mill platform with Newall C80 DRO and X-axis powerfeed pre-installed; confirm work envelope and table size requirements against the JTM-1050 base specification before ordering.
Installation requires a licensed or qualified millwright or machinery technician familiar with large machine tool rigging and leveling procedures. The machine must be set on a proper concrete foundation or reinforced floor rated for the load, and leveled using a precision machinist level before operation. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before performing any service, accessory installation, or adjustment work. Verify local electrical code compliance for the supply circuit before energizing the machine.
