The JET 691188 is a vertical knee mill configured with a Newall C80 2-axis digital readout (DRO) and an X-axis powerfeed installed at the factory. The JTM-1 is a full-size manual knee mill built for precision metal removal in machine shops, tool rooms, and maintenance facilities. The integrated Newall C80 DRO provides real-time axis position display, reducing setup time and improving repeatability on repeat cuts. The X-axis powerfeed drives the table automatically along the horizontal axis, reducing operator fatigue during long milling passes. This machine ships as a complete, ready-to-install unit at 2,200 pounds.
The JET 691188 is suited for job shops, vocational training facilities, and industrial maintenance departments that require a reliable manual vertical mill with productivity-enhancing accessories already fitted. The factory-installed DRO and powerfeed eliminate field integration work, making this a direct drop-in solution for shops upgrading from a bare-knee mill. Typical applications include face milling, end milling, drilling, and boring operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as an OEM-configured vertical knee mill unit. The Newall C80 DRO and X-axis powerfeed are factory-matched to the JTM-1 platform as supplied under this part number.
Installation of a vertical knee mill of this weight class requires a forklift or overhead crane rated for at least 2,200 pounds and a level, reinforced concrete floor. Electrical connection should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for the machine's specified voltage and phase. Verify spindle lubrication and way oil levels before initial power-on. Leveling with a precision machinist level across the table surface is required before the machine is placed into service.
