The JET 321130 is a bench lathe with a factory-installed Newall C80 digital readout (DRO) system. The Newall C80 DRO provides real-time axis position feedback, reducing manual measurement steps and improving repeatability on turned parts. This combination is intended for machine shops, maintenance facilities, and trade training environments where dimensional accuracy and workflow efficiency are priorities. Installation of the DRO at the factory means the unit arrives ready for operation without field-mounting the encoder scales or display head. A licensed machinist or qualified shop technician typically commissions this type of equipment.
The BDB-1340A lathe platform is suited for general turning, facing, threading, and boring operations in light industrial and professional shop settings. The integrated Newall C80 DRO supports precise part measurement across lathe axes, making it appropriate for production runs and one-off precision work alike. This unit is sold as a complete, pre-configured machine and does not require separate DRO installation.
Designed as a complete OEM-configured machine combining the JET BDB-1340A lathe platform with the Newall C80 DRO system. No aftermarket DRO fitment is required.
Commissioning a bench lathe of this weight class requires appropriate lifting equipment and a level, rigid floor mounting surface. Electrical connection should be made by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for the supply voltage and amperage of the machine. Before any service or adjustment to the lathe or DRO components, disconnect and lock out the main power supply following standard LOTO procedures. Consult the manufacturer documentation for leveling, lubrication, and spindle break-in procedures prior to first use.
