The JERGENS 40305 is a cast iron speed handle designed for manual tightening and loosening of fasteners in industrial and shop applications. It features two offset arms arranged for comfortable grip and efficient torque transfer, with a 1/2-13 tapped hole that accepts a standard bolt or threaded shaft. The arm spread measures 6 inches, the overall height is 2.125 inches, and both the hub diameter and hub height measure 1.5 inches. The mill finish provides a clean, uncoated surface ready for service. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and assembly workers are the typical users of this type of handle.
The JERGENS 40305 is suited for use on fixtures, jigs, clamps, and general shop equipment where a hand-operated speed handle is needed. The offset arm configuration allows the user to spin the handle quickly without knuckle interference, making it practical in tight workspaces. Its tapped 1/2-13 hole allows direct threading onto standard fasteners without additional hardware. Applications include machine tool fixtures, drill press tables, workholding setups, and toolroom equipment.
Designed as a standard replacement or upgrade speed handle for fixtures, jigs, clamps, and shop equipment using 1/2-13 threaded fasteners.
Installation requires no special tools - thread the 1/2-13 tapped hub directly onto the mating bolt or stud by hand. Ensure the mating thread is clean and free of damage before assembly. Do not use a wrench or impact tool on the hub, as cast iron is not rated for that loading. Confirm thread engagement depth meets the requirements of the host fixture before use.
