The JERGENS 30524 is a threaded spring plunger designed for use in positioning, indexing, and light-duty locking applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. The plunger features a 1/4-20 thread with a 1 inch thread length and a standard plunger projection of 3/16 inches. The nose is made from Delrin, and the body is steel with a black finish. An integrated locking element secures the plunger in place after installation, preventing loosening from vibration. Initial end force is 3 pounds and final end force is 13 pounds, making it well suited for repeatable, low-force detent applications.
This spring plunger is used in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, machine housings, and other precision assemblies where controlled positioning or light retention is required. The 1/4-20 thread is a common inch-series size that installs directly into tapped holes in steel, aluminum, and other standard tooling materials. The locking element eliminates the need for thread-locking compounds in most applications. Typical installers include tool and die technicians, machine builders, and maintenance mechanics working on production equipment or custom fixtures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install threaded spring plunger for jigs, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies using standard 1/4-20 tapped holes.
Installation requires a tapped 1/4-20 hole to the appropriate depth. Use a 1/8 inch hex key to drive the plunger to the desired installation depth. Power down or de-energize any associated equipment before servicing assemblies containing this plunger. Avoid over-torquing, which can damage the locking element or distort the thread form.
