The JERGENS 27103 is a short-body threaded spring plunger designed for positioning, indexing, and light-duty detent applications in mechanical assemblies. It features a 10-32 threaded body with a 9/16-inch thread length and a maximum plunger diameter of 0.093 inches. The plunger delivers 0.3 pounds of initial end force and 3 pounds of final end force, giving assemblers predictable, repeatable engagement. The steel body and steel nose are finished in black. A built-in locking element secures the plunger in place after installation, preventing rotation or backing out under vibration.
This spring plunger is suited for use in fixtures, jigs, machine components, and tooling assemblies where a low-profile, threaded positioning device is required. The short-body configuration fits tight clearance envelopes where standard-length plungers would not seat correctly. It is typically installed by machinists, tool and die makers, or maintenance technicians working on precision mechanical assemblies.
Designed as a direct-fit threaded spring plunger for 10-32 tapped holes in mechanical fixtures, jigs, and tooling assemblies requiring a short-body, locking-style detent plunger.
Installation requires a properly tapped 10-32 threaded hole. Use an appropriate hex key or driver to seat the plunger and engage the locking element. Power down or de-energize any associated equipment before servicing assemblies containing spring plungers. Do not overtighten, as this may compress the spring beyond its rated travel and reduce detent performance.
