The JERGENS 23438 is a safety engineered center pull hoist ring rated for 50,000 pounds load capacity. Designed for precision lifting applications, it features a 2-1/2-4 thread size with 4 inches of thread length and is machined from 4140 grade alloy steel with a black oxide finish. The center pull design keeps the load centered and reduces side-loading stress on the mounting thread, making it suitable for controlled overhead lifts in industrial and manufacturing environments. Licensed riggers, millwrights, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This hoist ring is intended for use in heavy industrial lifting setups where a reliable, high-capacity anchor point is required. The safety engineered center pull configuration allows the ring to pivot and swivel, accommodating off-angle loads while maintaining rated capacity. It is appropriate for use on large tooling, molds, machinery components, and structural assemblies where a 2-1/2-4 threaded mounting hole is present. Installation torque is specified at 2,100 foot-pounds, ensuring proper clamping force at the mounting surface.
Designed for use in threaded mounting applications requiring a 2-1/2-4 thread specification. Verify thread engagement depth and mounting surface load rating before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified rigger or licensed millwright familiar with overhead lifting hardware and applicable ASME B30 standards. Shut down all powered equipment and secure the load zone before installing or inspecting the hoist ring. Torque to the manufacturer-specified value using a calibrated torque wrench and confirm full thread engagement. Never exceed the rated load capacity and inspect the ring for cracks, deformation, or thread damage before each use.
