The JERGENS 215-066124 is a thin wall keylocking thread locking insert designed to provide a secure, permanent internal thread in metal assemblies. It accepts a 3/8-24 UNF internal thread and installs into a 1/2-13 external thread host bore. At 0.5 inches overall length, the insert is suited for applications where parent material thickness is limited. Manufactured from C1215 carbon steel with a zinc phosphate coating, it provides corrosion resistance and consistent thread engagement. Licensed to NAS 1394 standards, this insert is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and assembly professionals working in aerospace, industrial, and mechanical fabrication environments.
This insert is used in applications requiring a strong threaded insert in thin-walled or space-constrained parent materials. The keylocking design uses keys that are driven into the parent material to prevent rotation under load, making it appropriate for high-vibration or high-stress assemblies. It is suited for use in steel, aluminum, and other machinable host materials where thread stripping or thread repair is a concern. The 3/8-24 UNF internal thread size covers a wide range of fastener applications in mechanical and structural assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation keylocking thread insert for use in machinable host materials requiring a 1/2-13 installation bore and a 3/8-24 UNF internal thread.
Installation is performed by machinists or assembly technicians using the appropriate keylocking insert installation tool to drive locking keys into the parent material after the insert is threaded into place. The host bore must be drilled and tapped to the correct 1/2-13 thread specification before installation. De-energize and secure any assembly before performing thread repair or insert installation on in-service equipment. Follow applicable shop standards and engineering drawings for host material minimum wall thickness requirements.
