The JERGENS 215-066123 is a thin wall keylocking thread locking insert designed to install a permanent, locked internal thread into a tapped parent material hole. The insert measures 0.43 inches overall length and accepts a 5/16-24 UNF internal thread while threading into a 7/16-14 UNF external hole. Manufactured from C1215 carbon steel with a zinc phosphate coating, this insert is built for use in metalworking, aerospace, and industrial assembly applications where thread pullout resistance and a slim wall profile are required. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or mechanical assembly technicians.
This insert is suited for applications where a smaller internal thread size must be placed within a parent material bore that calls for a larger external thread. The thin wall design preserves more parent material compared to standard keylocking inserts, making it appropriate for components with limited wall thickness. Common installation scenarios include aerospace structural assemblies, precision machined housings, and industrial equipment repairs requiring permanent thread reinforcement. The insert meets NAS 1394 standards and carries a 2B internal thread class of fit and 2A external thread class of fit.
Designed as an OEM-style thread repair and reinforcement insert for metalworking and industrial assembly applications requiring a 5/16-24 UNF internal thread in a 7/16-14 UNF tapped hole.
Installation is typically performed by a machinist or mechanical assembly technician using a dedicated keylocking insert installation tool. The parent material bore must be tapped to 7/16-14 UNF specifications before the insert is driven in. Power down and de-energize any equipment before servicing threaded connections on live assemblies. Follow applicable industry and facility standards for thread insert installation procedures.
