The JERGENS 215-065952 is a thin wall keylocking thread locking insert designed to provide a strong, permanent internal thread in a parent material with a larger external thread. This insert accepts an M6 x 1 internal thread and installs into a host bore via an M10 x 1.25 external thread, with an overall length of 10 mm. Manufactured from C1215 carbon steel with a zinc phosphate coating, it meets NAS 1394 standards and carries internal and external thread class-of-fit ratings of 6H and 6G respectively. It is installed by maintenance technicians and manufacturing engineers wherever thread repair or thread reinforcement is required in metal components.
This insert is suited for applications in precision metalworking, aerospace ground support, and industrial machinery where a secure, non-rotating internal thread is needed in a thin-wall boss or casting. The keylocking design uses serrated keys that are driven into the parent material after installation, preventing the insert from rotating or backing out under vibration or dynamic loading. The metric coarse thread standard and compact 10 mm overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth bores in steel, aluminum, or cast iron components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation insert for applications requiring an M6 x 1 internal thread in a parent bore tapped to M10 x 1.25, conforming to NAS 1394 and metric coarse thread standards.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using the appropriate Jergens installation tool for the insert series. The parent material bore must be drilled and tapped to M10 x 1.25 before the insert is threaded in. After the insert is seated flush, the locking keys are driven into the parent material using a key-driving punch to lock the insert in place. Always verify parent material thread depth and bore diameter against the insert specifications before installation.
