The JB INDUSTRIES a31725 is a brass access valve designed for refrigerant system service work in HVAC applications. It features a 1/4 x 5/16 x 1/2 inch nominal size with SAE Male Flared x ODS x ODF connections, making it compatible with common refrigerant line configurations including systems charged with R-410A. The valve body is machined from high-tensile brass consisting of 65% copper and 35% zinc, which provides strong resistance to corrosion and reduces the risk of failure under field conditions. The valve core is stainless steel and brass, and the assembly is rated for temperatures from -40 to 250 degrees F. This valve is installed by licensed HVAC technicians during system installation, commissioning, or refrigerant service.
The a31725 is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC refrigerant circuits where access ports are required for charging, recovery, or pressure testing. The valve ships with a cap and one braze-type valve core, loosely assembled. Internal braze cups on pipe connections support dip tube applications. The generous counter bore design allows for core removal even if the flare surface becomes damaged. The valve core and body materials are resistant to refrigerant oils, alkalites, and diluted mineral acids, supporting use with modern refrigerants including R-410A.
Compatible with R-410A refrigerant systems and other common refrigerants. Suitable for HVAC refrigerant circuits requiring 1/4 x 5/16 x 1/2 inch SAE Male Flared x ODS x ODF access port connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Recover all refrigerant and depressurize the system before installing or replacing access valves. Follow applicable EPA Section 608 regulations when handling refrigerants. Use appropriate brazing procedures for ODS and ODF connections, and confirm the valve core is properly seated before returning the system to operation.
