The JARD 12766 is a dual section, round motor run capacitor rated at 35/5 microfarads (MFD) and 370 VAC, 50/60 Hz. It is designed to provide continuous running current to the compressor and fan motor windings in split-system and packaged HVAC equipment. The non-PCB dielectric construction meets current environmental standards. A built-in physical interrupter adds a layer of protection by interrupting the circuit if the capacitor reaches an unsafe internal pressure. Licensed HVAC technicians typically install and replace this component during routine maintenance or compressor and fan motor service calls.
This dual run capacitor is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC applications where a single round capacitor serves both the compressor and the condenser fan motor. The 35 MFD section supports the compressor start winding, while the 5 MFD section supports the outdoor fan motor. It is a common replacement in split-system condensing units and packaged rooftop units that share a single capacitor housing for both motor circuits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement dual run capacitor for residential and light commercial air conditioning condensing units and packaged HVAC equipment that use a 35/5 MFD, 370 VAC round dual capacitor.
Installation and replacement of motor run capacitors should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit before servicing the capacitor, and discharge the capacitor fully using an appropriate discharge tool before handling terminals. Verify the MFD ratings and voltage rating match the equipment nameplate before installing the replacement. Follow all applicable local electrical codes and the equipment manufacturer service instructions.
