The JACOBS JCM6204 is a keyed drill chuck designed for threaded spindle mounting on handheld and bench-mounted drilling equipment. It accepts bit shanks from 0 to 0.1575 inches, making it suitable for small-diameter twist drills, driver bits, and similar tooling. The chuck uses a plain bearing design and is constructed from steel for durability under repeated use. With a 5/16-24 threaded mount and a K0 key, this chuck is a direct-fit solution for light-duty drilling applications across industrial, mechanical, and electrical trade environments.
This chuck is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where precise, low-capacity drilling is required. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general mechanical tradespeople commonly use chucks of this type on corded drills, drill presses, and rotary tools. The compact closed length of 1.53 inches and 0.85-inch sleeve diameter allow use in space-constrained installations where a larger chuck would not fit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade chuck for drilling equipment with a 5/16-24 threaded spindle accepting a K0 keyed chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician with the host tool fully powered down and unplugged before any chuck work begins. Thread the chuck onto the spindle by hand first, then tighten to the spindle stop using the chuck key and spindle lock per the tool manufacturer's instructions. Inspect the chuck jaws and key engagement before returning the tool to service. Do not overtighten or use impact force to seat the chuck on the threaded spindle.
