The JACOBS 7347DN is a drill chuck arbor designed to connect a threaded drill chuck to a Morse taper spindle. It features a 5/8-16 threaded mount on the chuck end and a No. 2 Morse Taper (2MT) shank on the machine end. Overall length is 4.19 inches. This arbor serves as the mechanical interface between the chuck and the machine spindle, transmitting torque and maintaining concentricity during drilling operations. It is installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance mechanics working with drill presses, lathes, and similar machine tools equipped with 2MT spindles.
The 7347DN is suited for use in drill presses, turret lathes, and other machine tools that accept a No. 2 Morse Taper spindle bore. The 5/8-16 threaded nose accepts standard Jacobs-style threaded drill chucks in the matching thread size. This combination is common in both production shop and maintenance environments where quick chuck mounting and removal is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-fit arbor for machine tool spindles with a No. 2 Morse Taper bore and threaded drill chucks with a 5/8-16 thread mount.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified maintenance personnel. Power down and lock out the machine before installing or removing the arbor. The Morse taper shank should be cleaned and free of burrs before seating in the spindle bore. Use a proper drift and mallet to remove the arbor from the spindle - never pry against precision taper surfaces.
