The JACOBS 7306N is a taper drill chuck arbor designed to connect a Jacobs Taper 1 (JT1) drill chuck to a No. 2 Morse Taper (2MT) spindle or tailstock. The arbor serves as the mechanical interface between the chuck and the machine spindle, transmitting torque and maintaining concentricity during drilling operations. Weighing 0.25 pounds, this compact arbor suits machine shop and maintenance environments where reliable chuck mounting is required. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers.
This arbor is used in drilling applications where a JT1-mount chuck must be seated on a No. 2 Morse Taper spindle. Typical installations include drill presses, lathes, and milling machine attachments equipped with a 2MT spindle bore. The arbor is appropriate for light-duty to medium-duty drilling in both production and job-shop settings. It is not intended for use with Jacobs Taper sizes other than JT1 or spindles other than 2MT.
Designed for use with JT1-mount drill chucks on machines equipped with a No. 2 Morse Taper spindle bore.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before mounting or removing any chuck arbor. The Morse Taper shank and spindle bore must be clean and free of oil, chips, and burrs before seating the arbor to ensure proper contact and concentricity. Use a drift and mallet at the spindle ejector slot for removal - never attempt to pry the arbor free from the chuck side.
