The JACOBS 7300N is a drill chuck arbor designed to connect a Jacobs Taper 2 (JT2) mount drill chuck to a No. 1 Morse Taper (1MT) spindle or tailstock. This arbor serves as the mechanical interface between the chuck and the machine, transmitting rotational force and maintaining concentricity under drilling loads. It is a standard toolroom and machine shop component used in drill presses, lathes, and milling machine setups wherever a 1MT receiver is present. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and tool crib managers stock this arbor as a direct replacement or spare for JT2-mount chuck configurations.
This arbor fits applications where a JT2 chuck mount must seat into a 1MT spindle bore. Common install scenarios include benchtop and floor-standing drill presses with 1MT spindles, lathe tailstocks configured for 1MT tooling, and light milling setups using Morse taper adapters. The JT2 mount is one of the most widely used Jacobs Taper sizes, making this arbor a high-frequency replacement item in general machining and maintenance environments.
Designed for use with JT2-mount drill chucks installed into machines with a No. 1 Morse Taper spindle or tailstock receiver.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians. Before seating the arbor, power down and lock out the machine spindle per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Clean the 1MT spindle bore and the arbor shank thoroughly to remove oil, chips, or burrs before pressing the taper to seat. To remove, use a drift punch through the spindle drift slot rather than striking the chuck body directly.
