The JACKSON SAFETY 37247 is a replacement outer safety plate designed to protect the filter lens and inner lens of a welding helmet from spatter, scratches, and surface damage during welding operations. Made from high-impact, clear polycarbonate, the plate is lightweight and provides a reliable barrier between the work environment and the optical components behind it. Measuring 2 inches by 4.25 inches, it inserts directly over the filter lens without tools. Licensed welders and helmet service technicians use these plates as part of routine lens maintenance to extend the service life of more costly filter plates.
This outer safety plate is suited for use in MIG, TIG, stick, and general arc welding applications where spatter and debris contact the front of the helmet shell. It is designed for welding helmets that accept a 2 inch by 4.25 inch outer cover plate. Because these plates take direct spatter impact, replacement on a regular maintenance schedule is standard practice in fabrication shops, field welding, and maintenance welding environments.
Compatible with a variety of JACKSON SAFETY welding helmets that accept a 2 inch by 4.25 inch outer safety plate. Refer to your helmet documentation to confirm cover plate size before ordering.
Outer safety plates are replaced by qualified welders or safety equipment technicians as part of routine lens assembly maintenance. Before servicing the lens assembly, ensure the welding machine is de-energized and the helmet is removed from service. Insert the plate over the filter lens according to the helmet manufacturer's assembly instructions. Inspect the plate before each use and replace immediately if cracking, pitting, or discoloration is present.
