The JACKSON SAFETY 16058 is a polycarbonate magnifying plate designed for use with welding helmets. It functions as a cheater lens, increasing optical magnification to help welders see close work clearly without removing their helmet. The lens carries a 1.50 diopter rating and is constructed from scratch-resistant polycarbonate, providing both visual clarity and durability during active welding operations. Welders, fabricators, and metal workers who require vision correction at close range benefit most from this insert.
This magnifier plate is intended for installation inside passive and auto-darkening filter (ADF) welding helmets. It is positioned toward the back of the filter stack, between the lens and the welder's face, and is compatible with all EQC filters. It is a practical solution for welding professionals who need reading-glass-style magnification integrated into their standard head protection without relying on prescription safety eyewear underneath.
Compatible with passive and auto-darkening filters (ADF) in welding helmets that accept EQC filter formats. The plate is designed to be positioned toward the rear of the filter assembly.
Installation is performed by the welder or safety equipment technician without specialized tools. The magnifier plate is inserted toward the back of the helmet filter stack according to the helmet manufacturer's assembly instructions. Ensure the helmet is removed from service before inserting or adjusting the lens plate. Inspect the plate for cracks or scratches before each use, as lens damage can reduce optical clarity and protection.
