The JACKSON SAFETY 14494 is the AA7 Windgard head protection liner designed to extend the cold-weather wearability of standard safety caps and full-brim hard hats. Built for temperatures ranging from 32 degrees F down to 0 degrees F, it uses a knitted flame-resistant treated polyester shell that meets 16 CFR 1610, Class 1. The Windgard design blocks wind penetration while trapping body heat close to the head. This liner is used by trade professionals working outdoor jobsites, construction, utility, and industrial environments where hard hat wear is mandatory and cold temps are a safety hazard.
The 14494 fits over most standard safety caps and full-brim hard hat styles, making it a practical cold-weather addition without requiring workers to replace existing head protection. It is suited for outdoor trades including electrical lineworkers, ironworkers, pipefitters, and general construction crews operating in cold climates or during winter months. The navy blue colorway is a common worksite-neutral option. Its flame-resistant treatment adds a layer of protection in environments where ignition hazards may be present.
Designed to fit over most standard safety caps and full-brim hard hat styles used in general industry and construction applications.
This liner is worn over an existing hard hat and requires no tools or fasteners to install. Verify fit with your specific hard hat model before use on an active jobsite to confirm it does not compromise the hat's suspension or fit adjustment. Inspect the liner regularly for wear, damage, or degradation of the flame-resistant treatment, and replace if integrity is compromised.
