The IVES AC-250-1 is a diaphragm-type natural gas meter rated for 656 SCFH flow capacity at a maximum operating pressure of 5 PSI. The housing is die-cast aluminum, keeping the unit lightweight and resistant to corrosion in utility and commercial service environments. Internal components include oil-impregnated, self-lubricating bushings and molded convoluted diaphragms engineered for smooth gas measurement and long service life. Graphite-filled phenolic valves reduce internal wear, and rigid reinforced flag rods maintain positive alignment to sustain measurement accuracy over time. This meter is intended for installation by licensed gas utility technicians or qualified contractors.
The AC-250-1 is suited for residential and light commercial gas metering applications where a 1-inch top-mount connection and 5 PSI service pressure are standard. It is a 20-meter-light class unit designed for measuring natural gas consumption at the point of service entry. The top-mount configuration is common in setups where the meter set is installed at or near the building exterior service riser. Low-friction grommet seals and security seals that indicate tampering make this unit appropriate for utility-grade metering installations requiring accountability and durability.
Designed as a top-mount diaphragm gas meter with a 1-inch connection, suitable for residential and light commercial natural gas metering service at 5 PSI operating pressure and up to 656 SCFH flow capacity.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas technician or utility contractor in accordance with applicable local gas codes and IFGC requirements. Shut off all upstream gas supply and verify line depressurization before removing or installing the meter. Confirm connection thread type and torque connections per fitting manufacturer specifications using appropriate pipe wrenches and thread sealant rated for gas service. After installation, perform a leak check at all fittings before returning the system to service.
