Built from submicron-grade carbide in manufacturer grade IC908 and finished with a dual TiAlN and TiN coating, this bar delivers hardness and thermal resistance needed for demanding cutting conditions. It handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.1969 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.748 inches, making it well suited for precision small-bore applications. With a 20-degree bar end angle and a 0.002 inch corner radius, it produces clean, consistent chamfers in tight bores. This chamfering boring bar is intended for small-bore internal machining on CNC turning centers, lathes, and dedicated boring machines. It is best applied where bore diameters begin at or near 0.1969 inches and depth does not exceed 0.748 inches. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation setups. The submicron carbide substrate and IC908 grade are suited for harder workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast iron, and heat-resistant alloys, though actual material compatibility should be confirmed against ISCAR grade documentation for the specific application.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfering boring bar for use in standard small-bore toolholding systems that accept a 5.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or removing the boring bar. Confirm the toolholder bore and clamping mechanism are sized for a 5.00 mm shank and that runout is within acceptable tolerance before commencing a cut. Do not exceed the rated maximum bore depth of 0.748 inches, as overextension can cause deflection or tool breakage.
