The ISCAR 6410069 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the Swisscut series, designed for precision parting, grooving, and turning operations on CNC lathes and Swiss-type turning centers. The insert carries the manufacturer grade IC1008 with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating, making it suitable for a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys. The cutting width is 1.00 mm (0.0394 inches), the corner radius is 0.08 mm, and the maximum depth of cut is 3.00 mm. Holding method is screw-clamped, and the lead angle direction is neutral with a right-hand insert orientation. This insert is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for grooving, parting, and turning applications on a variety of workpiece materials including universal material groups coded H, K, M, N, P, and S under ISO 13399 classification. The Swisscut series is designed for use in Swiss-style and conventional CNC turning centers where narrow cutting widths and precise corner geometry are required. The chipbreaker style is P, and the single-end configuration means the insert is replaced when the single cutting edge is worn. Minimum order quantity for this insert is 5 pieces, with individual package quantity of 1.
Designed for use in toolholders and cutting units within the ISCAR Swisscut series that accept SCIR-style inserts at the 22 mm size code. Compatible with universal workpiece material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S as defined by ISO 13399. Verify toolholder bore and clamping geometry before installation.
Insert replacement is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down the spindle and engage the machine lockout before accessing the toolholder. Use the correct Torx or hex key driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure full contact and accurate edge positioning.
