The ISCAR 6405029 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the Cut-Grip series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the IC830 grade with a PVD-applied AlTiN and TiN coating, this insert delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The double-ended configuration provides two usable cutting edges per insert, extending tool life and reducing per-edge tooling cost. With a 2 mm cutting width and a positive 7-degree rake angle, it is engineered for controlled chip formation and consistent surface finish in demanding turning applications.
