The ISCAR 6403930 is a solid carbide corner radius boring bar designed for internal turning and small-bore finishing operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. It produces a 0.0315-inch corner radius and handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.315 inches with a maximum bore depth of 0.1181 inches. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation setups. A TiAlN and TiN dual finish coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation during high-speed cuts. Manufactured to ISCAR grade IC1008, this bar is suited for machining a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron at moderate to high cutting speeds.
This boring bar is intended for precision internal bore work in small-diameter applications on production lathes and live-tooling setups. The compact overall length of 1.0236 inches and 7.00 mm shank diameter make it well suited for tight-clearance bores in complex turned components. Machinists and CNC operators working on hydraulic valve bodies, medical components, automotive parts, and other tight-tolerance turned parts will find this bar appropriate for finishing passes where corner geometry control is critical.
Designed as a replacement-style solid carbide boring bar for CNC lathes and machining centers requiring a 7.00 mm shank diameter and a minimum bore diameter of 0.315 inches. Confirm shank bore and toolholder clearance before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in E-stop or lockout/tagout condition before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque set screws to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify bore diameter clearance and corner radius requirements against the part print before running the first pass.
