The ISCAR 6403784 is a solid carbide internal grooving insert designed for right-hand cutting in bore grooving operations. Sold under the PICCO R 050.6-15 IC908 designation, this insert produces a 3.00 mm (0.118 inch) wide groove with a 1.50 mm corner radius. It is engineered for small-bore work, requiring a minimum hole diameter of 6.70 mm, and reaches a maximum hole depth of 42.00 mm (1.654 inches). The solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance in demanding turning and grooving applications. Machinists and CNC operators working on internal grooving in production or job-shop environments are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for internal grooving operations on lathes and turning centers where small-bore clearance is required. The 8.00 mm shank diameter and 67.00 mm overall length make it compatible with toolholders designed for compact boring and grooving work. It is appropriate for both production runs and precision single-part work where consistent groove width and depth control are critical. This insert is installed and replaced by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Ensure the toolholder clamping mechanism is clean and undamaged before inserting. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw, and verify insert seating before resuming cutting operations.
