This neutral-hand insert carries the GITM500K040 insert style and IB50 manufacturer grade. The uncoated CBN substrate delivers thermal stability and edge hardness suited for interrupted cuts and hardened workpieces. With a cutting width of 5 mm (0.1969 inches) and a maximum depth of cut of 0.50 mm (0.0197 inches), it is built for shallow, controlled grooving passes. A corner radius of 0.40 mm (0.0157 inches) and a 7-degree positive rake angle support clean, low-force cutting action. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is intended for grooving applications on cast iron and hard materials, corresponding to workpiece material codes H and K per ISO 13399 classification. The Cut-Grip series is a common platform in production turning and CNC lathe environments, including both light manufacturing and high-volume shops requiring consistent groove geometry.
