The ISCAR 6402449 is a solid carbide internal single point threading tool designed for precision thread milling and turning operations on small-diameter bores. It cuts internal right-hand threads with a 60-degree profile angle across a range of 24 to 36 TPI, with a minimum threading diameter of 0.1969 inches and a cutting depth of 0.5906 inches. The tool measures 1.1811 inches in overall length and carries a TiCN and TiN dual-layer coating that improves wear resistance and surface finish on threaded features. It is intended for use by machinists and toolmakers working on CNC lathes and threading centers.
This tool is suited for internal threading applications on small-bore components in precision machining environments, including production shops and job shops running CNC turning equipment. The 5.00 mm shank diameter and 0.1969 inch minimum thread diameter make it appropriate for tight-bore work where larger tooling cannot reach. The right-hand thread direction and fixed 60-degree profile angle align with standard unified and metric thread forms in this pitch range. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or air blast is the appropriate cooling method during use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide threading tool for internal threading operations on CNC lathes and turning centers accepting a 5.00 mm shank diameter toolholder.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC toolholding systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the tool from its holder. Verify shank clamping torque against the toolholder manufacturer specifications and confirm tool projection and runout before beginning a threading pass. No coolant-through port is present on this tool; use external coolant or air blast directed at the cutting zone.
