The ISCAR 6309494 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for precision holemaking in a wide range of production and maintenance applications. Ground to a 140-degree split point with web thinning, it delivers clean entry and reduced thrust force compared to standard 118-degree geometry. The TiAlN coating improves heat resistance and tool life, making it well-suited for dry or minimal-lubrication drilling. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks or collet holders. With two regular spiral flutes and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it provides efficient chip evacuation in interrupted cuts and through-hole operations. Coolant-through capability is supported for high-speed production environments.
This drill is rated for use across multiple workpiece material groups including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. It falls within the ISCAR SCD series and is classified for general-purpose drilling and holemaking. Typical install scenarios include CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld power tools in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production floor environments. The No. 29 wire size produces a 0.136-inch diameter hole, a common tap drill diameter used in threaded fastener work.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials. Straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for 0.136-inch diameter tooling.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing or inspecting the drill. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet to minimize runout. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed selection based on workpiece material.
