The ISCAR 6095478 is a double-ended solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert in the Do-Grip series, designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the DGN insert style with an IC808 PVD-coated submicron carbide grade, delivering consistent edge performance across a wide range of workpiece materials. The cutting width measures 2.00 mm (0.0787 inches) with a neutral lead angle, a 0-degree lead angle, and a 7-degree relief angle. A JT chipbreaker geometry is molded into the insert to manage chip flow during interrupted or continuous grooving cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert into compatible Do-Grip clamp-style toolholders.
This insert is suited for grooving and parting applications in both light and medium-duty turning setups. The IC808 grade and PVD coating make it applicable across universal workpiece material groups, covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous materials as indicated by material codes H, K, M, P, and S. The maximum depth of cut reaches 18.00 mm (0.7087 inches), accommodating deep grooving passes without toolholder interference. It is appropriate for production environments where a single insert grade must handle mixed-material work on multi-spindle or gang-tooled setups.
Designed for use in Do-Grip series clamp-style toolholders that accept DGN insert style in the 2002 size code. Verified compatible across material groups H, K, M, P, and S per ISO 13399 classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and all stored energy released before insert seating. Seat the insert fully into the Do-Grip pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating to avoid seating errors or premature edge failure. Follow facility lockout/tagout procedures before any tooling change on live equipment.
